All started in the second half of the ’50s.
Pierachille Tosana, founder and owner of Confart sas, was still a student. A friend of the family, in visit from the USA,
gave his mother the latest word for the Italian market: a pair of nylon tights.
At the time, nylon tights were an unknown product and the future businessman was struck by the particular material,
that was perfect to substitute silk, keeping at the same time its best qualities.
Of course, in the young man sensibility, that hadn’t yet experienced his knowledge in the field, this was only an intuition.
The synthetic fibers would have changed the textiles production in Italy and in the world.
The only thing to do was to pick that extraordinary opportunity.
It was 1956 when Pierachille bought, with the help of his father, his first synthetic textile production machine.
Pierachille’s father worked himself in the textile sector and he had the same passion for working and for mechanics
that will distinguish his son’s actions.
So, combining an intuition with a long working tradition, Confart sas was born.
The synthetic fibers processing was still in its first steps and so was the technology.
The result was altogether good, but small imperfections made the best use of the fabrics difficult and this led to the fragmentation
of the fabric in small portions.
From this outward criticality, Pierachille got excited and had ideas to give a specific direction to the production.
